This year's Exchange Club National Day of Service project extended over two
weekends - thanks to the inclement weather on October 24th. 75 Exchange club volunteers
wielded shovels, rakes, axes, wheelbarrows, paintbrushes and assorted tools to clean, fix and beautify
three community spaces in Needham.
Two of the locations are very familiar to members of Exchange - the Tot Lot at the DeFazio complex
and the Claxton Field playground.
Those sites and their facilities were created in previous years as Exchange Club projects. The third - Noyes Park - is one of Needham's pocket parks, a National Register listed site at the corner of Great Plain and Central Avenues.
Thanks to Chair Norm Provencher and all the members of the National Day of Service Committee for this gift to the Needham community.

That evening, the Club presented a check for $20,500 to the Charles River Center. Needham Exchange Club has a long history of collaboration with and support for the the Charles River Center and its efforts on behalf of people with developmental disabilities. The funds were raised when the organizations partnered to sponsor the Exchange Club's yearly charitable Golf Tournament.
